Children's activities

The museum offers a number of programs for school and children's groups which must be booked in advance. For individuals and small groups, children will enjoy a stop in the discovery area where they can dress up, try out old fashioned toys and equipment or select a scavenger hunt that will lead them through the museum in search of artifacts.

The Good as Gold Gift Shop

The Museum gift shop stocks a large selection of books on BC History or by local authors. It is also one of the best places to find customized Quesnel souvenirs from tree branch pencils to clothing. They offer jade and Northwest Native designed jewelry, crafts by local artisans, children's games and toys. If you have caught "Gold Fever", you can equip yourself with a manual and a pan… or purchase a vial of gold flakes.

If you are a fan of the supernatural, you can take home a souvenir of your encounter with "Mandy, the Haunted Doll." Don't overlook the museum's own publications: a series of DVDs of the "Elders' Stories" featured in the museum's exhibits, or walking tour guides of downtown Quesnel and the Pioneer Cemetery.

For a truly unique gift, order a print from the Museum's extensive collection of historical photographs.
