Patrick Kilroy was one of the first butcher's in Lytton and it was a good business. At some point the Hautier's as partners started up another butcher shop and the relationship was always rocky. One evening in the Globe hotel Patrick Kilroy insulted Josephine Hautier and Louis flew into battle. It ended with Patrick beating Louis with his own walking stick but then Louis pulled out a gun and wounded Patrick.
