The Pollard family of the Cornish Ranch. Credit the Pollard family collection John Pollard who operated the ranch just north of Clinton had been one of Billy Barker's associates at Lillooet in 1859. Unsucessful at mining, Pollard turned to farming and ranching.

When John Pollard died in 1901, he left his wife Kezia to raise their family, and operate the ranch. Kezia also ran a successful roadhouse, and was able to build a three-storey roadhouse in 1908. There are still members of the Pollard family living in the Cariboo.
