Captain William Power

As a well respected young Irishman William Power and his clever young German wife opened a hotel at Yale in 1858. As a leading citizen in 1861 Power was one of a delegation of 3 to approach Governor Douglas with a petition to have the Cariboo Wagon Road start at Yale, rather than at Hope.
