Designed to accommodate larger school groups, classes are divided into teams of 3-5 students and are provided with a question sheet for one of 3 zones in the museum and the immediate area (LeBourdais Park and the Pioneer Cemetery). When a team think they know all the answers, they check in with the zone monitor. If they correctly answer the questions, they are handed the question sheet for the next zone. Otherwise, they are given a hint to the questions they need to revisit. The race provides an overview of the history of the community and exposes students or a variety of primary and secondary sources (archival documents, interpretive panels, photographs, videos, grave markers). Suitable for student in grade 5 and up.
